Help! what do i do?

So theres this guy... anyways we have been best freinds forever and started going out like a month ago. He is so shy and i am outgoing. I asked him out first, then at the end of the night he asked me to officially be his girlfriend (it was really sweet). Now i know that he is too shy to kiss me, and i dont want to freak him out since he is shy. What should I do? should i kiss him first or should i suggestively coax him into it? by the way im 18 and he is 20.
