What is/are the procedures of transporting a leagally bought firearm from one state to another via airflight?

bring it in a case to the airport (ammo in separate box or not at all) and take it to the ticket counter and declare it a firearm. They will take it from there. You will have to claim it personally at the desk at the destination.
