Help, buying wholesale have I made the right decision?

I am interested in buying wholesale products for resale, I emailed a few wholesalers and somebody rang me from a mobile number. I beleived they were genuine and set up an order over the phone. He gave me his bank details and I have set up a transfer for 820 quid. The business he claims to work for has a website a href="http://wagaming.co.uk/store/" rel="nofollow"http://wagaming.co.uk/store//a but I do no have proof he works here. Have I been stupid in sending this much money to somebody with no proof of who they are? is it likely to be a scam or am I just being paranoid. Please help me. Thankyou
