Is the new 6.4L srt 8 challenger too slow for the $45,000 price tag compared to the GT and SS price?

With the Challenger, the car is meant to be cruised, not raced. Whereas with the '11 GT, Ford set out to compete with the BMW M3, which it does quite well, given the fact that it costs less than 1/2 what the BMW does, yet is within 0.1 second of the M around a road course (as tested by a magazine) and faster in a straight line. The Camaro came out to try to bolster GM's image after being bought out by the government, and to try to rival the sales of the Mustang, which it has failed to do either of. And then there's the Challenger. It was brought back at a time when retro cars were cool and it wasn't about strip domination because, let's face it, if someone wants to go fast on a drag strip or road course, there's parts to make the car do that. It doesn't have to be the fastest from the factory. I personally would rather have the Challenger over the GM junk or the faster Mustang GT. Dodge has never been a fan of supercharging, or else they would have just put a supercharged 5.7L in the viper instead of an 8.4L V10. Their method to big power is bigger engines. That's just what they do.
