Writing a letter for a parole board?

my boyfriend lives with me but is incarcerated right now. they wont let him out on parole because of a report that was made last year saying he threatened to kill me which wasnt true. i had a restraining order on him but it wasnt because he threatened me. it was because my family pressured me into doing it because they didnt want me with him. a parole officer told me i could write a letter explaining the situation to the parole board so that he can can get on parole using my address. what will or could happen if i do that?
